around the web

Drum Clamp - Forklifts are really utilized to move, lift and store items placed on pallets. For facilities that make use of drums, they usually require an attachment in order to handle lifting, moving and storing them. There are a few different attachments that a company can use for all of your drum storing, lifting and moving needs. These attachments are specifically used so as to deal with drum containers - therefore there is no chance of damage to the product or drum container when they are lifted, stored or moved.

Drum Positioner And Grab
The drum positioner could be used in order to load and unload drums off of drum stands, vehicles and racks. These are available in three and four tine models. This accessory is fully automatic, therefore enabling the individual operating it to operate all from the comfort of the lift truck seat. Able to move large and extra large plastic drums, steel, its capacity is 210 liters. This particular attachment is designed for drum pyramid stacking.

The drum grab is fork designed and mounted with the sole purpose of handling steel drums that have rolling hoops. Though the reason for the design was to handle steel drums with rolling hoops, the drum grab could accommodate the transporting of large and extra large plastic drums. Drum capacity maximum is 220 liters for plastic barrels and 210 for steel drums with rolling hoops.

The Rotator
The drum rotator is another forklift accessory which mounts onto the forks themselves. Their objective is to be able to pick up the drum and rotate it upside down. The drum is clamped into the drum rotator using a clamp that fits around the center of the drum. The rotation is executed by either a crank handle or a continuous loop chain. The crank handle is used for operations which happen beneath shoulder level. For operations which must happen over shoulder level, the continuous circle chain will be used.

The drum tines are carriage mounted or simple fork attachments. They are meant for unstacking and stacking 210-liter metal drums. Stacking involves nothing elaborate, just simple horizontal placement of the drums. The carriage-mounted enhancements reduce the load center of the drums.

Automatic Tongs
Drum tongs come in both semi-automatic and automatic versions which can be utilized in the open topped and tight head steel drum styles. The drum tongs can also be connected in many different ways to the forklift. One method is to connect them underneath a fork-mounted hook. Another way is to attach them to a fork-mounted jib or a carriage mounted jib. Either the automatic and semi-automatic have a drum capacity of 210 liters. With the automatic, there is no requirement for the person operating it to ever leave the seat of the lift truck.

Rim Grip Handler
When drums need storage space with limited area accessible, the Rim Grip Drum Handler is the perfect alternative in drum forklift accessories. This particular accessory will work for either the two hundred ten liter drums along with one hundred twenty liter drums. The Rim Grip Handler operates by utilizing steel jaws to grab the edge of the drum. It picks the drum up and puts it down without requiring any space between the drums. The standard unit used in the trade is a zinc-plated handler, although, this particular accessory is obtainable in stainless steel for the food and drink market.
